Historic WWII ATLANTIC WALL CEMENT TWO

Historic WWII ATLANTIC WALL CEMENT TWO

$500.00$1,075.00

This “Heritage Art Collection,” image is from the chemistry of concrete German bunkers on the high bluffs overlooking Omaha Beach, Normandy, France, place of the D-Day invasion by American troops.  All that came to mind as I saw this crystal grow, was the carnage and impression of ascendency of the human spirit during the height of battle. One sees, relates and interprets according to what is anticipated, especially with knowledge of the material being crystallized.  Nothing mystical, just psychological, empathetic and very human!

Description

The Art

Over the course of twenty years perfecting this art form the artist is able to create each image by manipulating the growth of a microscopic crystal no larger than the point of a pin, while being observed on a microscope slide with sophisticated Zeiss research laboratory microscopes.

The crystals are composed of the chemistry extracted from an endless array of materials, not limited to coffee, tea, wine, spirits, beer, pharmaceuticals, complex chemicals, human hair and even the chemistry extracted from the spices in curry soup.

The image color is the crystal’s natural “birefringence,” as adjusted through cross polarization by the artist.   What is created and observed through the microscope, is the final art image

The image is captured using German,  (Jenoptik, GmbH.)  state of the art, microscope cameras, converted into digital files for sizing and production as an original or limited edition piece of art.  Microvision manages Art production under stringent quality control by a “‘Hahnemühle Certified Studio” production house located near our offices in Miami, Florida, printing imagery  on Hahnemühle archival fine art paper or stretched  on canvas.
